3 Tips for Getting Ready for Stay Over Guests

Do you get excited or panic when you know someone is coming to stay at your home?
I love having PJ guests but I like it more when I am prepared. It can be so much fun and you can spend more special time with your guests.
So, to prevent the panic part and bring out the  fun, I put together 3 Tips for Getting Ready for Stay Over Guests.

If you have a guest room then you are super lucky but most people don’t so it can get trickier. These tips will help you no matter what.  Follow these and you are sure to have a happier guest and a happier host.

3 Tips for Getting Ready for Stay Over Guests

TIP #1

GET THE BEDDING ORGANIZED
Take a look at the sheets your guests will use. If they have been in the closest or on the bed for a few weeks they may not smell fresh.  Throw them in the wash and see if they are still suitable.

I have a guest room ( the joys of empty nesters) and if I am in a real pinch for time I will use lavender linen spray to freshen up the sheets.  If the bed is made up then lightly spray the lavender linen water on the bed to make it smell fresh.

You can do this tip as well by spraying linen water in your linen closet.
Another quick solution is just putting sheets in the dryer with lavender dryer sheets.

Why is it that pillows seem to get so old and flat?  Check out the pillows to see if you would sleep on them yourself.  If the answer is no, then it is time for new ones.  Some people are really allergic to
down / feathers so it is better to stay away from them.  I love the feel of down but ,if you can’t offer a selection of pillows then stick to synthetic fill.

TIP #2

HAVE A SET OF TOWELS FOR GUESTS ONLY

Towels that we use every day is not always the best for company.  I like having a set of towels set aside that only gets used by company.  God help my husband if he should use them!!   Check to see if they need to be freshened.  Storing in the closet can mean they still need to be washed. Or if they are hung up then they get dusty.  Remember some people really like a face cloth so don’t forget that too.

TIP#3
HAVE A BASKET OF TOILETRIES

If you don’t happen to have a guest bathroom where you can leave the nice special toiletries then make up a basket .  In the basket include , special hair shampoo and conditioner, razor, body wash, body moisturizer, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush.  The key is to have anything you think they will need so you don’t have to go running around finding them something when you just want to go to bed.  ( this could also end up being a gift for the guest to bring home) I like having miniature bottles so the basket doesn’t have to be so big.
