For around two years a girlfriend and I have gone to a restaurant on the lake in Mimico and we order their version of Sangria.
Each time we went to the restaurant we would ask for the recipe. Sometimes they would be forth coming and share the recipe but it was always sort of vague. The last time the server told us he didn’t know and he was not sure what was in it because the bartender made it.
( Basically in so many words telling us it is a secret recipe). However, the manager came by later and he was a little bit more helpful.
In the past It did not help that my friend and I would also forget some of the ingredients so I didn’t really try to make a batch. But this time I wrote down what they told us and it did not make perfect sense. Therefore, I gave up and tried what I thought should work. Sangria sometimes are too strong for my palate. I tried lightening this recipe up and therefore I am not sure if it still classifies as a Sangria. So, hence the name- RED WINE WITH BERRIES AND MORE!
There is no special brands as any type of frozen berries will do but the best combination is with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. I like the frozen because if you are making it and serving it right away the berries cool it down. As you can see I used plenty of ice because this drink is best cold when it is hot outside. I would probably use less ice in the colder seasons.
Finally get the ingredients together and start putting them in a big pitcher. The recipe is a guideline because you can add or decrease any of the ingredients for your taste. Keeping tasting until you like the taste and then serve.
If you are not a big fan of red wine you could try our Prosecco with Infuse Cucumber Signature Drink.
